Extra Tricks 3/30/10 Philly Trip

Featuring John Provencher, Joey Paone, Andrew Davis, Jeff Colombo, Billy Simpson and Brian Panebianco with the marathon line. Filmed by Billy Simpson. The clips of me were filmed by John Provencher and Herd Adis.

The barrier setup at wedge was something new that I wanna skate more. Jeff Colombo and Tore Bevivino killed it. Jeff got a fs 5-0 180 out and a front board shuv. Tore did a kickflip front board, switch back tail and switch back lip all within probably 2 tries. Im saving those clips for our full length video.

Philly Trip

On Saturday, April 20th me and John Porvencher met up with my brother in Philly. We started out at the triangle ledges and the bridge spot. Jimmy got a nice fs lipslide to fakie on it and John was getting some fs nosegrinds on it. I was surprised because the ledge is chunky and not easy to grind. The one he landed he clipped so I put it in the clip. After that we hit up the bridge spot thats right next to the ledges. It was really packed with other skaters and rollerbladers. John got real close to a back tail and jimmy got a fs 5-0 on it before we started filming.

A few days after we skated these spots this awesome clip of Mike Maldonado was up on the skateboard mag site. I've been wanting new footage of him forever. He does a cool trick on the barrier at the bridge spot and a sick line on the triangle ledges. So glad to see this guy back. Bluntslide at 3 block and ender ollie are ridiculous.



After that we checked out burnt cat. There were a bunch of little kids there playing. They kept asking to use our boards and when I got my camera out the one little kid wanted to try it out haha. They were all really funny asking us a bunch of questions. John was getting close to a nice line with a fs nosegrind shuv out on one of the benches when a Rabbi kicked us out. He was worried we would hit the kids playing. Funny enough the kids were upset when we were leaving haha. Especially the one little boy who wanted to us my camera.

I found this old clip of Bam skating at burnt cat from 2000. This rail is so long too. It would have been sick if he got it.



After that we cruised around the city and Jimmy took us to the high benches and slanted wall that Kerry Getz skated in Toy Machine's video "Jump Off A Building". This was one of the earleir videos I got when I first started skating. They had the sickest team back then. I've watched that video so many times and I still love it.

After that we checked out this pole jam Jimmy found a month before with some friends. Its pretty sick cause you have to do a quick ollie up a curb and hit the pole jam. You only have a few feet before the pole jam so you gotta be quick. Jimmy and John both did it but were saving them for our full length video "Framework". Hopefully we will be able to finish it Summer 2010.

Shields Skatepark Montage

The first few clips were a different day at wedge that joey filmed. Collin always does some different stuff on the quaterpipe. I really like the little extra revert he puts in the alleyoop 5-0 trick on the quaterpipe.

We had a really good time at the Shields park. The ramp to ramp set up was really fun. Joey started it off doing huge switch fs bigspins. He was killing it. Huge kickflips clearing the whole ramp and Going back and forth doing lines over the ramps. He got my hyped to try some more stuff over the gap. I was real excited about the varial flip over the gap and the lipslide to nosemanny on the planter spot thats just like the one at wedge. I've never nollie flipped over a hip before so I was pretty excited about that too.

I really like Johns bs flip over the gap too. Anthony set up the pole jam to the box. Ant got a nice pole jam to fs 5050 on the box when we werent filming. Johns pole jam bs 5050 turned out real nice. The curved part of the quaterpipe was pretty tough to skate and john was getting some nice back tails.

Ant got some good lines in the middle of the park when we werent filming. fs 5050 and a nice front board across the rail over the fun box. Another trick I wish we would have got on tape was Joeys trick across the planter. He was trying to bs bluntslide across the whole thing but kept over rotating at the end. Out of nowhere he did the sickest bs bluntslide 270 out across the whole thing! It was ridiculous.

I couldnt believe the stuff joey was doing down the big rail at the park. That thing is not like other park rails. It's pretty big and you could really get messed up on it. Right when we got there Joey just killed it. He fs tailslide it first try within 5 minutes of us being at the park. Of course once we went to film it he kept slamming and sliding out on the slippery ground but the lipslide, smith and crook looked so sick. I told him we have to find a rail for him on the streets. He was doing this stuff so easily.

Bridge Spot Clip

Heres a clip Joey Christoffers put together of some skating at the Bridge spot in Philly. Filmed by Joey Christoffers and I'm guessing Collin Bauder filmed his trick. Featuring Collin Bauder, Joey Christoffers and Matt Powell.

Joeys pop shuvit nosegrind is real nice. Matt Powell always puts together sick lines. His fakie front crooks is real sick. I've seen him easily do them backside too. Collins stuff on the barrier doesnt even make sense. I tried skating that thing and I couldnt even get a grind on it. I think its one of those things if you skated the spot you would realize how hard it really is. The fs 5-0 revert is crazy.

Me and Jimmy skated this spot awhile ago on Sunday, February 21st. Jimmy got a sick line with a wallie over the barrier and I got a bs crook bigspin out on the angle iron ledge. Its a pretty fun spot. Its the only place I know that you can skate when its raining or snowing.

Wedgewood Quaterpipe Montage

I remember when Anthony Travis made this clip a few years ago and I never knew where to find it. Thankfully Joey Christoffers put it up on facebook the other day. It features Joey Christoffers, John Kroesser, Erik Mangal, Matt(Guy with dreads), Paulie and Collin Bauder. It was Filmed by Anthony Travis.

I remember the day the quaterpipe was finished there was like 25 people at wedge all skating it at once haha. The quaterpipe is definitely one of my favorite things to skate at wedge. I think John Kroesser and TZ built it and im sure they got some help from other guys at wedge. Thanks guys!
