"First Try" 2004 (Full Video)

Featuring parts from Billy Simpson, Vinni Prosseda, Ricky Finn, Frank Smith, Jon Mervine and Dan Ackerman.

Also featuring Jimmy Burke, Paul Mashett, Josh Krameranko, Mike McCrorie, Dylan Lincoln, Wade Kingsbauer, Andy Ventresca, Julie Mervine, Chris Balch, Jake Hoffman and more.

Our first video we made in 2004 with our crappy handy cam, old home video footage and some editing program that came with the camera. I still think its pretty good for Jimmy editing it when he was 12 or 13. Its pretty damn funny to watch now for a lot of reasons but mostly things like misspelled name titles, using songs by A Perfect Circle, The Misfits and Tupac, having half of Frank's part be him dancing and having skiing, biking and skating in Jons part to name just some of the reasons. We were definitely psyched on it at the time and had fun making it. It's pretty nice having it now as something to look back on. This was mostly Filmed by Billy Simpson and Jimmy Simpson. Additional filming by whoever was around to hold the camera. Also some random home video footage from Dan Ackerman thrown in there. Edited by Jimmy Simpson

Jimmy Burke is the one who got us into skating. My brother Jimmy put together this clip of some home video footage Burke had around Drexel Hill, where we grew up and some stuff we filmed when he came to Harleysville, after we moved. This was an extra on the "First Try" DVD.

Bryan Leddy's part from "Clock In."

Kevin Leidtke 5+ Tricks at Ambler Skate Plaza filmed and edited by Ryan Higgins. Were working on a Ambler Park montage. Kevin and Joey O'Brien already got some sick stuff.

Featuring Jimmy Simpson, Mark Beidlingmaier, Joey O'Brien, Cory Quigley, Alex Robinson, Kevin Pham and Kevin Nguyen.

Filmed by Billy Simpson.

The last few weeks of summer were pretty productive. We skated pretty much everyday and got a lot of good clips. We skated a lot in lansdale and had a few good days in Schwenksville and Bethlehem. Me and Jimmy moved down to Philly for school so hopefully we'll be able to get some more clips in the city.

Extra Tricks for Framework "End of Summer"

Featuring Jimmy Simpson, Joey Christoffers, Matt Powell, Mark Beidlingmaier, Kevin Pham, Joey O'Brien, John Provencher, Tore Bevivino, Kevin Nguyen and Alex Subers.

Filmed by Billy Simpson. Additional filming by Davis Trinh and Cory Quigley.

The first half of the clip up to Joey's first ollie over the gap we dubbed the "Pretzel Gap," where Kevin gets excited, is all older footage, some from 2 plus years ago like Jimmy's 5-0 to switch crook, that I've had sitting around for a while that we either decided to cut or couldn't really fit into the parts Jimmy has been editing. Jimmy's gotten Matt Powell, Joey Christoffers and Jeff Colombo's parts finished and is about halfway done Kevin Pham's and Joey Paone's. All of the parts are looking really good. I really love the direction Jimmy is going with this one, from the music to the animations he's using. Definitely excited to see some progress with everything.

It's crazy to see how little Joey was the first time he ollied over the "Pretzel Gap" on Thanksgiving in 2009 compared to the more recent one. It's even crazier to think that it was almost 2 years ago. It was a lot easier for him this time so he did another trick down it that were saving. It still blows my mind how well Joey Christoffers could skate that long board at Baldi.

We've still been trying to film when we can. Just recently Myself, Jimmy, John Provencher and Davis Trinh have a good time skating street around Lansdale. It's been a while since we actually went skating around looking for spots. That's how we found the little 2 set to plastic ramp spot in this clip that John actually got a nice clip at. Tore has been killing it on the wedge manny pad lately. The last 4 tricks I've filmed with him have been on that and they're all pretty amazing.

Joey O'Brien had a real good day at the Plymouth meeting kinked ledges and the rail. Unfortunately I wasn't able to make it to the session but thankfully I loaned Cory Quigley my camera and he was able to film everything. Thanks again Cory! Joey did a sick trick on the kinked ledges he's never even done on a regular ledge and did one of the best tricks on the handrail that I've ever seen. Good work Joey!

Sadly John Provencher moved out to California for school yesterday and won't be coming back til Christmas break. I'm happy for him but at the same time I hope he hates it and comes to school in Philly with me and Jim. Good luck John! I'm gonna be so envious of you when were shoveling snow and you're still cruisin around in a T-shirt. Thankfully I got to film a few clips of him before he left and a clip of Kevin Pham before he left for school in Ithaca. Good luck Kevin!

Me and Tore were reminiscing about this part when he was doing his one wheel nosemanny's haha. Fast forward to 2:43 to see what we were talking about. This guy had some different tricks.

Tyler Pettit's "Old Stuff", Sabotage "Zoning Notice", Joey O'Brien Wedge Clips

Tyler Pettit's recent clip of some older footage he had featuring Tyler Pettit, Cory Quigley, Kevin Pham, Jim Lang, Alex Subers, Kevin Nguyen and Davis Trinh. A lot of good stuff in this clip. Tyler's line at Temple Ambler and Cory's back tail shuv were real sick. I wish Tyler landed that wallride to fakie at the Dustbowls. Last I heard you get tickets at that spot, so I dont know when we'll skate there again. Tyler's Baldi line looked so casual, even though that trick is pretty damn hard. I liked his fs halfcab heel too. Thats a trick you don't see very often on banks. I was psyched to see Davis landed his kickflip over that KOP flat gap. I know he put some work into that. I saw him take some slams the last time we all went there. Kevin Nguyen's tricks in this clip were awesome! Fakie lipslide is a tough trick and he made it look so easy. Kevin Pham's tricks off the caution ledge over the barrier looked real stylish too.

The Sabotage clips have been so on point lately. Always excited to see a new one. Pretty crazy to think City Hall is going to be gone.

Some random clips Erik Mangal filmed of Joey O'Brien at Wedgewood. Joey is always learning new tricks. The fakie tail 2 shuv looked so good. I've seen pro's do that as a single trick in their part.

Joey Christoffers Wedgewood Tapes

Joey Christoffers let me look through his footage for some clips we could use for our full length video that were working on. Heres some of the footage from the tapes. I'm saving some clips for our video "Framework," hopefully coming soon. Thanks Joey!

With everyone busy with school we've been sticking around Wedgewood still filming stuff for "Framework",  but now that it's Summer were gonna be taking some trips to new spots.

Tore Bevivino and Brian Panebianco "Sabotage 2"

Over the years I've filmed Tore and Penny at Wedgewood and a few local spots, but I knew they had some crazy stuff they had filmed that they were hanging on too. I would see little sneak peeks of stuff they had in photos like these and on Pennys Blog, just waiting to see the footage.

Honestly I was probably more excited to see these two parts then any big pro video coming out and I think both parts definitely lived up to my expectations. I'm siked I got to film a few tricks in Tore and Pennys parts too. Sabotage 3 is gonna be sick.

Wedgewood Action

Clip of Tore Bevivino, Brian Panebianco and Nicky Borolla skatin wedge. Song is pretty damn catchy haha. Filmed by Nicky Borolla & Brian Panebianco. Edited by Nicky Borolla

Also found this clip on youtube of Joey O'Brien doing a bs noseblunt on the granite ledge at wedge. I've seen him try this here and there and I knew it was only a matter of time before he'd get one. I'm betting the next time I go to wedge he'll be doing them in lines.

Extra Tricks for Framework (3/22/11)

Heres some extra tricks were not using in "Framework" Featuring John Provencher, Cory Quigley, Joey Christoffers, Jimmy Simpson, Collin Bauder, Joey O'Brien, Tore Bevivino and Dustin Detweiler.

Been filming pretty regularly. Good seeing some old faces at wedgewood now that it's getting nicer out. The past couple of weekends we filmed at a few handrail spots and I was blown away by Joey O'Brien and Cory Quigley's skating. Kinda crazy I wasn't sure if either of them were gonna have full parts in "Framework" and now they both have about 3 minutes of footage each. The trick Joey did on the smaller Great Valley rail is definitely up there with the tricks I've seen pros do in videos. Everything he tried on the bigger rail was first try. The line he did on the 2 rails was perfect.

I always think of Kerry Getz line in Photosynthesis at 2:09 when I go to that spot.

Thanks to Tore for letting me know how to get to this rail in Warminster that him and Kevin Leidtke killed in this sabotage clip filmed by Ryan Higgins. I didn't know how Joey and Cory were gonna do anything Tore and Kevin didn't already do but they managed to do some really sick stuff on the bigger rail that I haven't seen.

Heres a screen grab of Corys 5050 on the Warminster rail.

We tried to come up with some different setups at wedge. One was setting up the white bench in front of the manny pad. John Provencher got a backtail to backtail from the white bench to the plastic and Collin Bauder got a front tail to front tail. The other set up Joey Christoffers came up with was to launch over the manny pad to the barrier. Joey O'Brien got a first try gap to 5-0 and Collin Bauder got a gap to front board. Tore kickflipped over the barrier off the metal kicker probably 10 times til he got one he liked.

Heres some other angles that my friend Austin from wedgewood filmed on his phone of Collin and Joey's tricks on the barrier.

5 Tricks with Joey O'Brien

Joeys getting too good. Hes always surprising me with new stuff. His part in Framework is already amazing and he's still getting 3 or 4 tricks every weekend. I've watched this clip probably 10 times already. Real nice filming by Ryan Sabotage too.

Devon Russell Fs 180 Souderton 11 set

This is an old clip from 2008 of Devon Russell's fs 180 over the Souderton 11 set. It ended up being used as the ender of his small section in Pat McCullion's part in our video "Collective". Check out that part here. This day was pretty awesome. We were out skating around Souderton when Devon called me up and said he wanted to try it. We all met up and after he ollied it, he went straight for a fs 180. Right after he landed it we went up the street to Dunkin Donuts and saw cops coming up to the school to kick us out. It worked perfectly.

Jon Murphy's Tapes

Jon Murphy was nice enough to let me use some of the footage off a few of his old tapes for our video "Framework" that were working on. As I was looking through I found a lot of extra clips and I thought it would be a shame for them to go to waste. Heres just some of the footage off those tapes.
