Extra Tricks for "Framework" (12/5/10)

Some extra tricks for our video "Framework" coming soon. Featuring Joey O'Brien, John Provencher, Cory Quigley, Tore Bevivino, Alex Subers, Kevin Pham, Jimmy Simpson and Billy Simpson.

Still filming for "Framework" as much as we can. Hopefully we will be able to get a lot of the editing done over Christmas break. The spot at :18 seconds was probably the most fun thing in the world haha. It was perfectly waxed. We skated it for a good half hour straight. Then we checked out the yellow flatbar spot in West Chester for the first time. Besides the few tricks in this clip John got a front blunt shuv, I got a back blunt and Cory got a back lip pop out.

Joey O'Brien is the first person I've seen use the table at the bump to grass gap in Harleysville. Besides the warm up 5050, He got real nice crook on it too and a front shuv over the gap. Tore could film a whole part on the granite ledge. Just recently I filmed him do a switch back tail kickflip out and bs smith kickflip out. My half cab boardslide switch 5-0 is from around two years ago, the angle iron on the ledge and the orange W's on the quaterpipe give it away. It's funny to see how much wedgewood changes when I look through old clips. How many different colors the park has been. If I had done Jimmy's front tail shuv on the green banks I would want to hold onto it but Jimmy's got higher standards then me haha. I thought it was sick. He got a sick line the other day at wedge with a half cab feeble 180 out on the brick ledges, never seen anyone do that before.

Mark Beidlingmaier's New Stuff

Some new footage of Mark Beidlingmaier. Nosemanny bs bigspin and fs flip are my personal favorites.

Tore and Joey at Shields Skatepark Contest

Tore Bevivino and Joey O'Brien killin it at the Shields Skatepark Contest. Tore got second place and Joey got 6th place. Tore told me that during his practice run Joey accidently did a bigspin switch back smith down the rail when he was trying a bigspin front board haha. Never seen or heard of that one before.

I've only been to this park once but it was really fun. With winter comin up I'm sure we'll be going back soon. Heres an old clip from March of Myself, Joey Christoffers, Anthony Krystopa and John Provencher skating at Shields. Right when we got there Joey went straight to the handrail and front tailed it. So crazy.

Ambler Shop at Shop Showdown

Joey O'Brien, Tore Bevivino and Kevin Leidtke skated for Ambler Skateshop at the Shop Showdown contest and got third place. Wish I could have checked this out in person. Heres some highlights from the contest. Joey's part in our video "Framework" is getting better and better. He films like 3 tricks everytime we skate.

Extra Tricks (11/04/10)

Featuring Billy Simpson, Kevin Pham, Kevin Nguyen, Joey O'Brien, Pat McCullion, Cory Quigley, John Provencher, Alex Robinson, Joey Paone and Dustin Detweiler.

The first two clips were filmed by Davis Trinh. Thanks dude! The rest I filmed.

Sorry there hasn't been many updates I've been pretty busy with school. The past month or so we've been skating wedge on Saturdays and Philly on Sundays. We got a lot of stuff at wedge lately, too much to talk about. Everybody has been killing it. Some spots we've been checking out the past month or so were the black banks, the under the bridge barrier spot on 8th and brown, the huge jersey barrier off the loading dock near christian street, 3 block, mini Baldi, Oregon ledges and some other random spots in Philly.

The black banks are really tough. John Provencher and Cory Quigley got some good stuff there. I still can't believe Fred Gall ollied the gap at :55 seconds in this clip. It doesn't look like too much in the video but in person it's impossible. The bank is super rough, its really hard to get speed and it's a big gap.

We got some sick stuff on the big Jersey barrier off the loading dock. Tore back tailed it and front crooked it in the Sabotage video. It looks pretty big on video but in person it's way bigger and pretty freakin intimidating. The ground is real rocky right where you land so you have to move the barrier pretty far away from the loading dock in order to clear the rocks. John Provencher got a fs smith on it, Pat McCullion got a bs 5-0, Chop got a fs nosegrind and Cory Quigley got a bs crook on it.

Kevin Talyor does a sick kickflip front board on the barrier at 1:27

Tore Bevivino at Wedge

Sorry for the lack of updates, I've been really busy with school. Penny put up a few clips of Tore skating wedge. Every time I see Tore he does something I've never seen him do before. If you haven't yet seen it yet the new Sabotage video is sick. It has full parts from Penny and Tore that I've already watched probably 10 times each, and lots of other good skating.

Extra Tricks for "Framework" (9/27/10)

Extra tricks for our video "Framework" featuring John Provencher, Joey Paone, Cory Quigley, Alex Robinson, Joey O'Brien, Collin Bauder, Mark Beidlingmaier, Tore Bevivino, Pat McCullion, Tyler Lindsay, Jimmy Simpson, Kevin Pham and Mikey O'Brien. Filmed by Billy Simpson

We've been having some good skate trips lately. We checked out the Great Valley rails recently. After about an hour trying to find them in the wrong industrial park we finally found them. Everybody was killin it, especially Cory Quigley. John Provencher got a front board down it. Pretty sick for his first handrail. Alex Subers got the cleanest front board shuv down it. Cory rifled off tricks. He got a front board, front feeble, then a bs feeble, then a bs crook and threw in a bs 5050 just for fun. Chop was trying a back lip the whole time. He landed one where the board came completely off his feet. After skating there for about a half hour or so we could see the security guard coming from down the parking lot, so we knew we could get a few more tries in. Right as the security guard finally got to us chop landed his back lip. It worked out perfect.

Another good session we had was a random little trip to the Quakertown flatspots, where we used to 3 or 4 years ago. Jimmy and Pat Owens killed it in their "Creatures of Habit" parts. There used to be a barrier there that we would all skate but that got taken away. So randomly, one day before I had work we got up early and borrowed the barrier from wedgewood and brought it to quakertown. John Provencher got a really stylish back tail to fakie on it. Chop got a nice bs smith and Pat McCullion did a ridiculous front nose bigspin out. I rarely see people do that trick and he did it perfect. By the time we got were done skating it it was like 11:30 and we still had time to skate wedge. It was a productive day.

Another good trip we went on was to the fish banks in Conshocken. First we tried to skate the kinked ledges in plymouth meeting. As we were getting kicked out Tore almost did a front blunt first try. A few more tries he would've had it. After that we headed to the fish banks in Conshohoken. Tore and Pat McCullion killed it. Pat did a bs 180 over the gap and Tore did the sickest tre flip to fakie.

We had a memorable skate day in philly recently. It was me, Cory Quigley, Alex Subers, Brian Panebianco and Tore Bevivino. We went straight to the ghetto banks. Tore handled business and put down an insane trick over the bank that Reynolds fakie flipped in his Emerica part at 1:52. Then we went to Temple and Penny was trying to switch crook the hubba. We got kicked out before he could get it. Then we went to the Temple Hospital rail that Jake Johnson did a switch flip back tail on as his last trick in this part. Cory did a nice bs 5050 on it and got pretty close to a bs crook. Then Tore, Alex and Cory left and me and Penny went to City Hall. Penny got a nice line down the 6 and a trick on the bench.

Another good day we had was in Harleysville. We started at the bump to grass gap. Besides the few tricks in the clip Joey O'Brien did a perfect tre flip over the gap. Joey Paone got close to a varial heelflip probably 6 times.

After that we went to the little Harleysville hubba. Chop got as close as you could to a front noseblunt without riding away. Joey O'Brien did a bs smith  4 or 5 times til he got it the way he wanted. Cory Quigley killed it. He got a back lip right away and then kickflip 5050'd it. I thought that was good enough but he got a kickflip 5-0 too. Overall a good day.

NOPE

Chop, Kevin Pham and Tyler Lindsay tried to make a video about three or four years ago called "Nope". It never really got finished so they put up a little montage of what they had. Kevin Nguyen is always filming with his little pocket camera and had a bunch of footage piling up of everybody, so the guys decided to finish Nope with his footage and stuff Davis Trinh filmed. Definitely hyped to see this one. Kevin has a lot of good stuff and Davis just got a new camera.

Heres the new Nope trailer Featuring Alex Robinson, John Provencher, Cory Quigley and Kevin Pham. Also featuring Joey O"Brien, Billy Simpson, Alex Subers and Jimmy Simpson. Edited by Davis Trinh and Filmed by Kevin Nguyen. Additional filming by Davis Trinh. The end is hilarious.

"Framework" Trailer 2010

A video by James Simpson and Billy Simpson. A skateboard video revolving around the Wedgewood skate scene. Featuring Joey Paone, Kevin Pham, Joey Christoffers, Erik Mangal, Jeff Colombo, Pat McCullion, Alex Robinson, James Simpson, Billy Simpson, and Collin Bauder.

Also featuring Brian Panebianco, Tore Bevivino, Matt Powell, Cory Quigley, John Provencher, Tyler Lindsay, Joey O'Brien and many more.

Title design and editing by James Simpson. Filmed by Billy Simpson.

We worked really hard on this thing for the past 3 months or so. We individually painted each frame of the title designs. We wanted to include other people in the trailer but Jimmy was running out of song to use and it would have been too long. We have been putting a lot of work into this video the past couple years since we finished "Collective". I don't know how many hours i've spent filming everyone for this thing, but its worth it. Everyone has been working really hard  to finish up their parts. Jimmy just hurt his ankle pretty bad so we're planning on editing his part last, so he can film a little more before the deadline. We are hoping to have the video done by Thanksgiving break so we can premiere it when everyones home from school. Jimmy started editing Chops part recently and its looking sick.

Here's a photo of one of the pages:

Here's a photo of all the title frames we did for the trailer:

Tyler Pettit's Throwaway footage

Some throwaway footage that my friend Tyler Pettit put up. Tylers wedgewood line with the lipslide looked real nice. I was there when he was trying the 180 nosegrind line on the white bench. He got so close a bunch of times. Fs halfcab mannys are tough. Cory did a sick line with the bigflip at baldi that I really want to see. Cory's mini ramp stuff looked real stylish. I dont know how he skates that thing. Its super skinny.

Extra Tricks for Framework (7/26/10)

Featuring Joey O'Brien, John Provencher, Chris Chihlas, Dustin Detweiler, Kevin Pham, Mikey O'Brien, Billy Simpson, Mark Biedlingmaier, Pat McCullion, Jimmy Simpson, Alex Robinson and Collin Bauder.

Merck Banks

A memorable session we had was at the Merck Banks. Everybody was killin it. I refilmed a bs 5-0 to fakie, Chris Chihlas was doing some real nice 5-0 grinds and John Provencher got a nice back tail on it. John has done some sick stuff there in his "Creatures of Habit" part and "Collective" Part. Joey O'Brien was the MVP of the day. First he did a perfect bs bluntslide to fakie, twice. I thought that was sick enough but he ended up doing a sick bs bluntslide 270 that were saving for "Framework".

After that we went out back behind the banks to skate the grass gap. Chris started it off right away doing a perfect heelflip in about 5 minutes. He did it again so I could film it. The second time was even better. Jimmy found a random skinny pole and jammed it in the grass at the top of the gap. After a few tries he did a perfect pole jam down the gap. Joey O'Brien and Dustin Detweiler were battling for a few heelflip tricks. Joey was trying fs heelflip and Dustin was trying bs heelflip. They both landed on their tricks probably 10 times. Eventually Joey landed bolts on his trick and Dustin almost landed the bs heelflip right after. After slamming for around a half hour striaght Dustin called it.

King of Prussia Flat Spots

Another memorable session we had recently was a trip to the King of Prussia flat spots. Thanks to my friend Matt at crookiemonster.com for telling me how to get there. The spot reminds me a lot of the Swenksville flat spots we used to skate. Jimmy killed that spot in his "Collective" part.

Right off the bat Mark Biedlingmaier fs flipped it perfect. Then I started filming and he did it again for the camera. Joey O'Brien did an amazing bs bigspin and got super close to a 3 shuv. John Provencher did a real nice bs flip and Jimmy Simpson did a sick bs bigflip. Kevin Pham was doing some different stuff with ollie to disaster over the gap, Joeys little brother Mikey O'Brien did a nice bs 180 and I landed on fs shuv probably six times but didn't ride away. After that we checked out the woods spot right next to the flat spots and Mark did the front board 270 on the sketchy bank.

On the way home from the flat spots we stopped off at the Sunoco pole jam that we found a while back. Mark and Joey both regular pole jammed it and I filmed a one footed pole jam. Thankfully a cop didn't show up like the last time.

Norristown Highschool

Another spot we skated recently was the Norristown highschool. This time we weren't as successful. We started out at the stairs. Chop went straight for a 5-0 on the rail right up against the wall. His toes were sliding along the wall so he actually waxed the wall too haha. He got pretty close but after cutting his hand pretty bad and trying it for a while he gave up. Dustin Detweiler landed on a sick switch flip 3 or 4 times and hit his head on one of the attempts. Joey O'Brien landed a  nice bs flip down the stairs.

While I was filming everyone on the stairs my brother Jimmy did a sick wallride down the 3 stair. Davis Trinh's photo of it turned out real nice. After that we tried to skate the manny pad but no luck on any tricks. Kevin Pham was getting real close to switch nosemanny and I landed on a half cab manny revert.

Check Jack Sabback's sick trick on the Norristown pad at 1:25

Here are some photos from Norristown:

Jimmy found these boxes with different renditions of famous paintings on each side, So he did some artsy ollies over them haha. Van Gogh ollie. Photo by Kevin Pham.

Warhol ollie. Photo by Kevin Pham.

There are some older tricks and random ones in this clip too. Joey O'Brien killed the Tombstone skatepark. One day we skated there for a little bit and he banged out tricks off the pyramid over the rail. His kickflip was just one of them. We tried to film some stuff at the Fedex gap but no luck just like last time. We all had fun throwing rocks at the guardrail though haha. Before we went to the Fedex gap we tried to skate China bump. Joey Paone landed on a bunch of varial heels and Jimmy got real close to a impossible. Collin showed up and foot planted the door haha, so sick. They were having a party inside the restaurant and they were having karaoke. That was very entertaining haha.

The last few tricks are some of the older ones. My friend Pat Hennigan let us borrow his pole jam that he made in shop class haha. We brought that thing to a bunch of spots. My one footed pole jam manny is from a few years ago. I recently filmed a lipslide nosemanny 180 out on the wedge planter so I threw the regular one in this clip. John's line at wedge is from this past winter when he was just getting back into skating. He's got some sick back tails on the bank.

Davis Trinh got a new lens for his camera. Heres some portraits taken with it.

Trying to look serious haha. Photo by Alex Robinson.

Kevin is always smiling. I like that. Photo by Davis Trinh

This photo is from 3 or 4 weeks ago when we had a awesome session at the bump to grass gap in Harleysville. Pat McCullion did a nice varial flip and Jimmy did a perfect bs bigspin. This is a photo Davis Trinh took of the bs bigspin.

Extra Tricks for Framework (7/6/10)

Featuring Zach Panebianco, Pat Hennigan, Joey Christoffers, Pat McCullion, Anthony Krystopa, Alex Robinson, Dustin Detweiler, Kevin Pham, Billy Simpson, Jimmy Simpson, Collin Bauder, Jeff Colombo and John Provencher.

The first 4 clips are some older ones that have been on my computer. Zach is pretty sick on rails. I was showing him the Moes gap right next to the rail that Joey Christoffers ollied and kickflipped a while back and he decided to front board the rail. The ride up is pretty sketchy without a sign and the kink on the end didn't make it any easier. Joey Christoffers line at baldi was filmed over a year ago now. I cant believe how fast time goes. He did a sick line there with the long board that were saving for "Framework". They're knocking down the Souderton Highschool so I thought it would be cool to film somebody do a line there like we used to do when we were younger. The 5 and 4 were one of the main spots for kids who skated around Harleysville, Souderton and Telford area. Pat is so consistent, he had no problem 360 flipping the 5 over and over again to do the line.

Collin Bauder did a sick pole jam 360 at wedge recently and while I was filming him do that trick Anthony and Chop rifled off some pole jam tricks. Right before Chop went to try the switch pole jam and fell, he cut off Dan Trauger. Karma Chop haha. Dustin is one of the younger guys at wedge, who is getting a lot better. His nollie back tail revert on the quaterpipe was really stylish. Kevin Pham has landed on switch nosemanny 360 shuvs probably 10 times now. I feel for you Kev.

I got a 5-0 fs shuv across the planter at wedge recently, the 5-0 180 was warming up for it. Jimmy learned one footed fs tailslides pretty nice the other day so he threw a little line together. Jimmy's quick ollie up the curb pole jam in philly was a lot harder then it looks. It was a fast set up.

Heres some photos from a random day at wedgewood:

Erik aka Karate Kid

We took a trip to dustbowls recently to try and film some stuff. We didnt get too much there but it always fun to cruise around. Kevin got a one footed wallride on the one of the bank to wall set ups. I can't believe it was a year ago that we skated the dustbowls when Collin Bauder, Joey Christoffers and Chop killed it. From the dustbowls we checked out this bank spot in Conshohocken that finally dried up. Thanks to my friend Matt for giving us directions to the spot. Check out his site Crookie Monster. Jimmy ollied the little gap a few times and did a gap to fs tailslide on the banks. John Provencher did a blunt to fakie on the bank.

Heres some photos Kevin Pham took at the fish banks:

The end of the clip is just a few tries of Collin Bauder trying to get a mute 360 over the sketchy transfer at wedge. He tried filming it on three separate occasions trying it for probably 40 minutes each time. I don't know how he kept trying it for so long. Landing on the steep, short bank was the part that was giving him trouble. Last week he finally got it with Penny filming fisheye and me filming long lense. Good work Collin!

Penny took this photo on his phone of one of Collins attempts.

This is Bams part from Toy Machines video "Jump off a building". This was one of the first videos I ever had. He skates the dustbowls at :20 seconds and :30 seconds. The ollie into that skinny bank is so sketchy in person. I think Joey Christoffers melon grab off the kicker tops Bams.

Heres some photos Jimmy took on his disposable camera while we were at the Dustbowls:

The tunnels are probably 20 degrees cooler then outside.

Jimmy getting a little creative drying off his shirt

My favorite one. John while skating the quaterpipe.

The essentials. Lots of water, my camera and a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.

Me and John

Yeah Kev. Kevin got super close to fs wallriding one of the bank to walls.

Gettin Gnar!

Joey O'Brien "A Day of Skating Part 2"

Joey O'Brien's part from Jon Murphy's video "A Day of Skating Part 2". I can't imagine how good Joeys gonna be when he gets older. Hes only 15 or something. I could watch him do his boned out ollies and kickflips all day. I have some footage of him and hopefully he will have a section in our video "Framework" that were working on.

Philly Go Skateboarding Day 2010

Another awesome clip from Penny and Sabotage. I wish I could have been there this day but work ruins everything. Penny always has sick lines and I liked his front tail on the one rail. Joey Christoffers is getting so good. He kills it on handrails. The last crook and bluntslide were so perfect. That noseslide at the ghetto banks looked really scary too.

Ambler Skate Shop Re-Opening Video

Heres a sick video from Sabotage of the Ambler skateshop re-opening. Tore and Brian freakin kill it.

Also heres another sick clip from Sabotage of Tore skating the Warminster park.

Davis Trinh's Montage

Davis Trinh made a montage with some footage Kevin Nguyen and Davis filmed for a school project. Featuring John Provencher, Kevin Nguyen, Tyler Lindsay, Billy Simpson, Kevin Pham, Alex Robinson, Alex Cassidy, Jimmy Simpson, and Joey O'Brien.

Some real nice stuff in here. Joey O'Brien has some sick kickflips. Kevin Pham's frontside bigspin at little china bump was perfect. Chop learned switch nosegrinds out of nowhere and John Provencher's front smith on the ledge at black rock skatepark was so stylish.

Extra Tricks for Framework (6/9/10)

Extra Tricks for "Framework" featuring Jimmy Simpson, Erik Mangal, John Provencher, Billy Simpson, Kevin Pham, Pat McCullion, Collin Welch, Alex "Chop" Robinson, Dan Trauger, Dustin Detweiler, Brian Panebianco, Mark Beidlingmaier, Joey Christoffers and Collin Bauder.

Youtube won't let me access my Focus17 account anymore so I had to make a new account. Subscribe to my new account Framework17 for more videos coming soon. We are working on the trailer for our video "Framework" that should be up soon.

I really like a lot of the tricks in this clip. Jimmy's front board on the pole jam line was sick. He did it probably 4 times too. John Provenchers back tail on the green bank was real nice. Recently I landed a lipslide manny fs 180 out on the planter at wedge so I threw the regular one in this clip. Erik's 5-0 bs 180 was clean but he did a few fs noseblunt slides across the stairs so I thought they kind of one upped the 5-0 trick. John's kickflip back tail on the granite ledge was first try. He's been killin it lately.

I don't really skate the launch ramp but I always like filming other people skate it, especially Joey Christoffers and Collin Bauder. Collin's double grab and Joey's kickflip were really sick.

The rest of the clip are some more recent tricks. We took a trip to Abington Highschool recently. I saw Chris Cole skate the banks with ease in his Hot Wax 2 part, so I thought we could probably get some tricks on them. Well Chris Cole is amazing and he makes everything look easy. The banks were extremely hard to skate. Besides Kevin Pham and John Provencher's little rock to fakie tricks, Pat McCullion was the only one to get a trick. He did a nice kickflip to fakie on it. Collin Welch got so close to a sick 180 no comply. Chop tried to skate the bump to bar at the school but it was really sketchy.

Check his bigflip on the bank at :27 seconds. The whole part is amazing. City Hall line down and up the stairs is ridiculous.

Tore setup the parking block on the cinder blocks that Erik and Chop skate in this clip. I dont know why it took us so long to think of doing that but its fun to skate. Eriks cab boardslide was perfect. Jimmy did a fs lipslide to bs blunt on the granite ledge. He accidently did the fs lipslide 180 out.

The clip of Dustin doing the bs 5-0 fs shuv on the bank was funny. I had seen Dustin do that trick on there before so I asked him if I could film it. The little kid riding the bike was cruising around the park all day getting in front of people haha. He was riding on the bank so I asked Dustin and and the kid to do a little doubles on the bank. In this clip he borrowed the little kids helmet haha. The one Dustin landed was perfect. The kid and Dustin were on the bank at the same time. We're saving that for "Framework."

We also took a trip to philly this past weekend. First we checked out mini baldi. This was our first time there. It is a pretty fun spot. It has a skinny ride up and its a pretty steep bank but its still fun. Tyler got a nice fs nosegrind and Chop got a perfect switch crook 180 into the bank. I landed on a fs 5-0 bs 180 out probably 10 times but I didn't ride away.

Check out John Kroesser's switch bluntslide at mini baldi at 1:00 in the trailer for Chris Mulhern's "This Time Tomorrow". It's a sick video.

Then we went to this manny pad I always passed on broad street but never got to skate. It's curb height and it ends into a little bank surrounded by poles. Jimmy slammed really hard trying to pole jam one of the poles. Some guy that was in the street next to us made a point to put down his window and laugh extremely hard at Jimmy haha.

After that we skated the bridge spot with the yellow barrier. I did a little switch rock on it and Chop did a regular one. Tyler got really close to a feeble on it but didn't ride away. The triangle ledges are right next to the barrier spot. Chop fs nose grinded it pretty easily so he tried to nosegrind fs 180 it. He basically learned the trick while we filmed it. After a little bit he did a real nice one.

Check out Will Wresilo's hurricane on the yellow barrier in his welcome video to Pusher wheels. I really don't know how people skate that thing. His Dustbowls ender noseblunt is insane. Collin and Joey slammed pretty hard on that thing a while ago.
