Extra Tricks (January 17th, 2010) Winter Break

Heres some old extra tricks from last spring and winter and some new ones from over winter break.Featuring Jimmy Simpson, Alex "Chop" Robinson, Erik Mangal, Joey O'Brien, Pat McCullion, Joey Christoffers, Mark Beids and Matt Powell.

Jimmys front board was really scary. You cant tell cause I filmed it bad but there was a big drop on the other side of the guardrail. I really liked his no comply on the quaterpipe. I cant figure them out. Jimmy learned nosegrind pop outs really well. Of course when we go to film it he falls really hard twice.

The clip of Joey O'brien is probably a year old, the tombstone park isnt even there anymore. He was flying down the parking lot. Matt Powell got a really nice line at wedgewood before he left for school with Switch heelflip 5-0 on the granite ledge.

Thanks to Matt who runs the Crookie Monster site, who told me how to get to the brick ledges in plymouth meeting. Me, Jimmy and John Provencher went there Saturday, January 16th. its a really sick spot. Jimmys bs 5-0 looked so nice. After the brick ledges we ended up going to that yellow slanted ledge right down the road that I had driven by so many times. I had seen Kyle Knoblauch do it in an old sponser me video and I always wanted to check it out. Its really slanted and on a steep downhill slope. It was pretty chunky too. The ledge is right next to the turnpike too so when Jimmy was trying it people kept honking and staring at us.

After that we went to wedge and had a good session with everybody. I learned back tails on the quaterpipe thanks to John Provencher. Thanks John! Jimmy was killin it with lines all over the place and me and John had a good game of skate. Damn nollie heels! Erik landed a perfect nosemanny nollie fs flip out. He can make the hardest tricks look so easy.

Me and Jim had tried to film the front blunt kickflip out on 5 or 6 different occasions. It got to the point where thats all he was trying to film everytime we went out. He landed one sketchy thats in this clip but thats the best it's gonna be. Sometimes you have to move on from a trick. Right after that I filmed Jimmy do a grind/manny combo on the planter ledge.

I filmed Mark Beids do a bunch of different pole jam to grind combos at wedge. He makes them look so easy. We set up the barrier after the pole jam and Mark got a pole jam 5-0 on it first try. I asked him to try it again and jimmy filmed him do it. It came out really nice. Then he started trying pole jam to bluntslide on the barrier. After getting a little frustrated Mark finally got it. I was really surprised by that one. Then Mark set up the two flatbars after the barrier haha for the ultimate pole jam grind combo haha. He took the hardest slam before he finally landed it.

Mark Beids pole jam bluntslide. Ridiculous!

Heres some photos of a fun day at wedge on January 10th. The only spot that was dry was the granite ledge but we had a good session on it. Pat did a nosemanny lipslide 270 shuv out. It turned out looking really sick. Erik learned crook to back smiths. Thats a cool looking trick. Collin Welch got so close to bs nosegrind bigspin out across the whole granite ledge.
